The research and organizations behind our content.

How we choose sources

We rely first on peer-reviewed research and on government agencies and professional bodies such as the CDC, NIH, HHS, ACOG, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Hospital and university health libraries add practical, clinician-reviewed detail. We never use Wikipedia.

How we write

We describe what research shows, and what it doesn't yet. When studies are small or only show links rather than causes, we say so. Anything from philosophy, culture, spirituality, or reflection carries a label and is never presented as research. Costs and programs change, so we date them and ask you to check current details.

Help us stay accurate

Spot something outdated or unclear? Let us know. Information here is for education, not a substitute for care from a qualified professional.

Newer evidence pages. The pages Your baby's brain, Secure attachment, and Things nobody tells you about your baby have their own numbered reference lists at the bottom, each entry with a DOI link. They use only peer-reviewed articles and professional policy statements from 2016 to 2026.
